Welcome back to the blog, and as always thank you for joining us! As we transition into the Aries zodiac, we turn our focus to all things Aries! We gave you all a chance to choose this month's crystal of the month via Instagram, and our lovely followers wanted to know more about the beautiful Citrine crystal! Listed below are a few quick facts about the stone!
Color: Ranges from soft yellow to deep ember with brown tinges
Chakra: Root (1st), Solar Plexus (3rd)
Benefit: Happiness, Manifestation, Success, Creativity
Crystal system: Trigonal
The name Citrine derives from the French word citron, which means lemon. We see this comparison in the variety of colors in citrine crystals. As we know each and every crystal is different! Citrine crystals can range in color from pale yellows to deep embers, orange, or in some cases deep brown. The colors of these crystals can be so different due to reasons like where they are found or if they are heat treated. Natural citrine stones are usually a pale yellow. When you see a citrine crystal that is more of a deep ember or orangish shade, that usually means that it is heat-treated. Growing near or in an Iron solution can also cause a transformation in this crystal's color, giving it that orangey pigment. Natural citrine has been found all over the world in places like Africa, Brazil, Madagascar, Spain, Russia, France, and the United States!
"Citrine opens the inner doors to increased clarity of thought, enhanced creativity and magnified powers of will and manifestation." (Simmons, 119) - The Book of Stones
As for the crystal itself, citrine is primarily used as a cleansing crystal and clears and steers away negative energy from its surrounding environment. Its healing properties consist of warmth, happiness, success, creativity, and abundance according to Juliette Thornbury's, The Crystal Fix. By keeping citrine in a workplace it can enhance productivity and positive energy.
This crystal also makes a great addition to your jewelry collection! By wearing citrine as a ring or necklace, it can help attract abundance and success to your life, while absorbing negativity and radiating positive energy! We even offer a range of citrine pendants at SoderWorld to add to your jewelry collection!
According to Robert Simmons' The Book of Stones, citrine in both natural and heat-treated forms can stimulate ones imagination through three portals - the second (Sacral), third (Solar Plexus), and sixth (Third-eye) chakras. "The vibratory resonance of Citrine activates and harmonizes these three centers, all of which are necessary to the process of creative imagination." (Simmons, 119).
A quick affirmation that also comes from The Book of Stones regarding Citrine is:
"I open myself to the inspiration of my creative imagination, and through the strength of my will, aligned with Divine Will, I manifest my dreams"
Citrine is available for purchase from the SoderWorld retail area for $12. We have both natural and heat-treated citrine in stock thanks to our lovely friends at Guardians of Nature.
